The Ghosts of Autumn

 

 

Fall long beards are not the boastful, hormone driven love birds of the spring hunt.  They are the ghost of autumn focused on food and survival. If you plan a fall hunt for a long beard expect to spend more than twice a much time to harvest a fall tom as you would a spring tom. This pair walked by the trail camera one time only. Then like ghosts, they were gone.
