A Three legged Wild Turkey?

NOT

At first glance, I thought this trail cam video had captured a tom dragging a third foot.  One close look, however, reveals it is a pine branch caught in it’s feathers.

But, how does a pine twig get attached  like that? Perhaps pine gum oozing from the branch stuck to his feathers. Who knows what a wild turkey goes through in the course of a day to survive.

If I had to guess, though I’d say this tom roosts in a pine tree and breaks a few twigs on take off and landing. He will likely still be roosting in pines when the season opens, so this could be an early tip on where to  find him them.
